West Chester, PA To South Carolina....

I think till all is said and done I'm going to post a map on one of my walls and track pertinent locations of the Marian Baker story with push pins.
I've added West Chester, PA to the list of locations. I'll post more about that later.
I have even more folks that I am indebted to and I can't thank them enough for their help!
I'll be back later today with more updates, I hope :)

One Additional Avenue To Explore and Perhaps Put To Rest Finally

Theories have abounded about almost every aspect of the murder of Marian Baker.
Some questions will never be answered. Some will never be answered to everyone's satisfaction.
One question I've had that I really feel compelled to answer is if Ed Gibbs had any influence, help or involvement with anyone else in the commission of the crime. I've not put much credence in that nebulous theory but it exists nonetheless.
Today I spoke with the Registrar at F & M and am researching Gibbs'academic pursuits. Due to privacy laws and college policy, I need to have my requests filed by the closest living relative of Ed Gibbs. There is much documentation that goes along with that request.
So, I guess I'll be heading back to Pitman. My motives have been clear to those who remain and they have not been unkind or ungiving thus far.
So many things just haven't made sense. Perhaps reviewing Ed's contacts and interactions, or lack of them, will finally put that one question to rest. Did he act alone? Totally alone? Could he have been roped into doing the bidding of someone else?
The first place to look is his transcript and to speak with those who knew him, again, and dig a bit deeper.
There is FAR more to Ed Gibbs than most folks know or even suspected.

It Has A Life Of It's Own....

Little did Marian know that when she accepted that ride from Ed Gibbs after she left the western exit of the Lancaster Post Office that she would encounter terror.
I often wonder if she knows that all these many years later, we haven't forgotten.
It's been a very long and productive day here.
I have to thank several people at F & M for their graciousness and offers of help.If they weren't able to help me directly, they were quite adept at directing me to the appropriate folks.
I also am in continual gratitude to the Lancaster County Historical Society. They have been a treasure trove of assistance.
I have been in contact with a few more people who knew or were close to Marian or were friend with Ed Gibbs. It really is time to let this story breath on its own and try to not take any more breaks in my research.
Time is surely of the essence. The light is fading fast.

Searching For Marian

It's been so long since I've been able to resume my research but resuming I am....

I have to admit to being quite hopeful and even excited with reservations. Currently, the search is on for the photograph of Marian that hung in memoriam on the F and M campus for many years. I have been personally assured that it would have been revered and treated with love and protection once removed from it's place in East Hall, which was razed in the late seventies.
In fact, there's a chance that the photograph is now hanging on a different wall, on the very campus she loved so well!
My phone may ring with the news that Marian is still being seen and honored to this day!
I pray that this is the case.

I also discussed my upcoming visit to the campus and will update you all here about that trip.
